OUR PASTOR
Reverend Theonita Bedford, better known as "Reverend Theo", has been the pastor of River of Life A.M.E. Church since October 2010. She was instrumental in leading the successful merger of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church and Robert Thomas Jr. A.M.E. Church to what we have become today - a vibrant and healthy body of believers.
Reverend Theo's love for the Lord is contagious. She works tirelessly to touch as many lives as possible with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Membership has more than doubled as God has blessed the labors of the River of Life church family under Reverend Theo's leadership. We are living out the vision as being "the place of possibilities" because Reverend Theo attributes all to "...Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us." (Ephesians 3:20 KJV)
Reverend Theo has pastored Bradford Memorial A.M.E. Church in Milwaukee for two years and served in several local and presiding elder district church leadership roles over the past 20 years. She holds two bachelor degrees and a Master of Arts in Religion from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield, Illinois. "Pastor Mom" is the proud parent of three gifted and saved adult children - Jasmine, Justin, and Jared.

OUR CHURCH
River of Life A.M.E. Church, "the place of possibilities", is located in the heart of Milwaukee, Wisconsin bordering the Rufus King and Garden Homes communities. Our mission is to share the love of God so that people may be transformed by the saving power of Jesus Christ to make a difference in communities near and far.
We are a diverse community of believers - male and female, young and old, young adults, various ethnicities and racial groups - from all walks of life. We are all united in what we believe - Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and our vision is to make "the place of possibilities" a life of possibilities for the believer.
There are personal benefits in becoming a part of the River of Life family. You will experience renewal (being made new), rest (finding peace, relief, and freedom), and revival (receiving vitality and strength). If this is what you seek, why don't you come and fellowship with us? We have learned and welcome you to join in on the secret of an abundant life - Jesus being the best thing that has ever happened to us!
